Storytelling Through The Seasons: Deep Winter
Storytelling Through The Seasons: Deep Winter
Deep Winter Storytelling Workshop with LaTonya Yvette
January 24 – February 14, 2026 | Four-Week Workshop
Led by author LaTonya Yvette, whose work has been noted for its "penetrating eye and lyrical empathy as she illuminates the complexities of home, embodiment, and inheritance" (Kirkus Reviews), this workshop is part of an ongoing, intimate practice exploring home, land, memory, and space as sources for creative work. These sessions are intentionally small, reflective, and immersive, giving participants the space to slow down, observe, and experiment.
Workshop Focus
Investigate the site of memory and how imagery tells stories when words fall short
Explore space on the page, in memory, and in the physical world, and how place shapes meaning and healing
Develop new writing or existing pieces through readings, prompts, and guided exercises
Work in a supportive, generative setting that connects observation, imagination, and craft
LaTonya draws inspiration from bell hooks' "Homeplace" essay, exploring how home, ritual, and memory create spaces of care, resistance, and belonging, guiding participants to consider how the everyday can become extraordinary on the page.

“The course changed my life! I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but it really has shifted my perspective and reignited a creative practice which feels so needed 9 months after giving birth. Feels like a new birth :) Thanks again.” - NW
